Now onto the news!
It's hard to believe that we are still setting records even as we are in the third year of operations, especially in January! Last Wednesday we served over 100 customers in a 3 hour period, including 20 folks from the Malley Senior Center who took a field trip downtown so they could have lunch and experience SAME. In all we served nearly 400 meals last week - which is a huge leap above the usual average of 30 that we've seen lately.
On Thursday, we were visited by a group of students from the Park Hill School who wanted to learn about SAME. One of the questions they asked us was what did we have on our wish list -- and then they went to the store and purchased tons of paper towels, hand soap and toilet paper! It was so cute when they came back and presented us with the gifts, along with a donation check and a "Super And Nice" award that they had all made and signed.
One last quick note -- today is Inauguration Day and we decided we wanted to mark today's historic events by creating a special menu. Hopefully all of you get a chance to watch a bit of this monumental day in American history.
