The Early Show was WAY Early
It is 4:30 p.m. and we have been up for 13 hours today already and we have a party of 18 coming in at 6:30. The day started off with a 3:00 a.m. wake up call. We were at the restaurant by 4:00 a.m. to let the camera crew in. I brought the air mattress over and took a nap in the basement while the crew set up. Brad made them coffee and they turned the cafe into a tv studio. I came upstairs around 5:15 and the restaurant looked totally intimidating. We got mic'd up and sat for about a 1/2 hour and did sound checks and such. We went live with Kelly Wallace for 3 1/2 minutes at 5:45 a.m. The three and a half minutes before we went on were the longest minutes of our lives and the interview itself was the quickest three and a half minutes. It was an amazing experience. We have already heard from lots of people who saw it. So this afternoon, we have been getting ready for the big group and taking turns resting.
The show turned out to be really good timing, as we got the chance to announce on national TV that yesterday we received our 501(c)(3) approval letter. That means So All May Eat, Inc. is officially a public charity! Being a public charity means that we are now eligible to receive grants as well as tax deductible gifts. For people and/or businesses who have previously donated to the organization, the status is retroactive back to the date we initially incorporated back in April, 2006.
What a week! so far...

I saw The Early Show and you were both great! But best of all was the news of your 501(c)(3) status! Congratulations on your news and more NATIONAL publicity. Can't wait for the opportunity to sample your food for myself!
